Additional Information
Advocates for Youth wrote the 3Rs curriculum, a K-12 sex ed curriculum, available free online at www.3rs.org. Training on the 3Rs curriculum is highly recommended but not required. Each lesson is clearly written with step by step instructions, including scripted text to outline key ideas, so that any educator, from the novice to the experienced, can pick up the lesson and deliver it with ease. While not required, we do highly recommend that educators receive training specifically on the new 2021 supplemental lessons as these new topics can be particularly challenging for even the most seasoned educator(topics may include but are not limited to – racial justice and the impact of racism on sexual health; teaching about anatomy that is intersex-inclusive; teaching about puberty that is inclusive of transgender experiences; and reproductive justice).
“This training was beyond beneficial for our team and our future trainees. It reignited my heart to share a space with so many innovative and passionate folks.”
Jessie Birkeland, Collaborating Director at RISE: Healthy for Life
